Formerly incarcerated people are almost ten times more likely to experience homelessness.
Each year, more than 1.8 million Americans are incarcerated, more than 650,000 are released from prison, and another 9 million cycle through local jails, nationally. When released, these individuals face employment prospects that are worse than during the Great Depression. It's not surprising - considering the social and economic barriers to re-entry - that recidivism rates are so high.
We believe that small, scalable solutions addressing housing, employment, and community connection are the way to bring redemption, dignity, and healing to our communities.
